Mindworks Product Options

SETUP & SUPPORT

Make your products your own.

Create custom product options and offer additional products alongside them. This guide is available without an app account.

Getting started

  1. Open Mindworks Product Options from your Shopify admin after installation. No separate account is required.
  2. Choose Option sets for custom fields and choices, or Set addon to offer other products.
  3. Create a set, configure its fields or addon products, and save it. Assign it to the products where it should appear. Collection assignments are available on supported paid plans.
  4. Add the matching app block or enable the popup embed in the theme editor, then save the theme. Use a theme that supports app blocks.
  5. Preview an assigned product. Test your selections, the main product variant and quantity, and the resulting cart before publishing theme changes.

The in-app Guide also checks which sets are configured for your store and explains the next setup steps.

Choose the right theme block

Product options
Add this app block to the product template to display assigned custom fields, choice buttons, swatches, or cards.
Product addons
Add this block to the product template for addon lists, grids, carousels, and button-triggered popups. The addon set controls the display type.
Addon popups
Enable this app embed for offers triggered by Add to cart or before checkout. A button-triggered product popup instead uses the Product addons block.
Cart addons
Add this block to the cart template for independently addable cart upsells. This is a cart feature, not a block inside Shopify checkout.

Save changes in both the app and theme editor. Check the template that the assigned product actually uses, not just the default template.

Options, addons, and prices

Option sets add inputs to the main product. Configure the choices and any price adjustments, then verify those selections in the cart. Conditional logic can show or hide an option based on a controlling choice or the selected product variant on supported plans.

Addon sets use actual Shopify products and variants. Choose a display type, selection rules, optional quantities, and a discount for each addon relationship. An addon discount only qualifies while its assigned main product remains in the cart; it does not permanently change the addon product price.

Shoppers must choose paid extras themselves. Unavailable addon variants cannot be purchased. Always test prices and currency behavior using your store's own configuration before launch.

Prices are configured in the store currency. Fixed adjustments convert to the buyer's currency; confirm each enabled market before launch. Paid custom options support one-time purchases only. Products with required custom options are not offered as addons: shoppers must configure those products on their own product page.

Confirmed answers appear together in the cart and order's "Product options" property. Use this verified summary for fulfillment, not independently added custom cart properties. After changing option rules, or product variants used by conditions, save and re-sync assignments. Buyers with older configurations must remove and re-add the item.

If an add-to-cart request reports an uncertain result, use Review cart before retrying. This avoids adding the main item twice. Standard product forms and supported Ajax cart flows are supported; custom theme handlers and accelerated purchase flows need separate testing. Addon discounts do not combine with other discounts.

Troubleshooting

My options or addons are not appearing

Check that the set is saved and assigned to this product. For addons, check that the set and individual addon products are enabled. Confirm the correct app block or embed is saved in the theme being viewed. Review any conditions that intentionally hide an option.

Selections or prices are missing from the cart

Test with the product page's standard Add to cart button. Confirm the selection has a configured adjustment and check the app Home for setup warnings. Another cart-customization app or a custom theme handler may need a compatibility check. Email support with the steps to reproduce the issue.

The popup is not opening

An Add to cart popup needs the Addon popups embed enabled. A button-triggered popup needs the Product addons block. Cart offers remember an answer during the browser session to avoid blocking checkout repeatedly; product Add to cart offers can appear again on a later add.

The design looks different on mobile

Review the block's mobile layout, columns, tile sizes, and gap settings in the theme editor. Check addon-set design settings for addon layouts. Save and test on an actual product page at mobile width.

How do I change my subscription?
